PRACTICAL ADVICE
HOW TO BECOME A LIBRARY USER
In order to become a library user, the student must:
- Visit the Check-out desk and show his/her student ID,
- Enter his/her personal password into the database in order to be able to reserve books,
- A bar code bearing his/her library card number will be attached to his/her ID.
In order to check out a book, the student must:
- Log into the directory (orion.wsb-nlu.edu.pl) typing the library card number displayed on the bar code and his/her personal password, search for the book and note down its author, title and call number
or
- Find the book using the traditional directory and note down its author, title and a call number,
- Visit the Check-out desk with his/her student ID,
- Give the librarian the data concerning the book (its author, title, call number)
In order to extend the deadline for returning the book, the student must:
- Personally visit the Check-out desk and show his/her student ID,
- Ask the librarian on duty to extend the deadline for returning the book in question.
- If you need statistical data
Visit the General Reading Room or use An Abbreviated Statistical Book on CD in the Periodicals Reading room.
- If you don't know how to compile a bibliography and footnotes
You will find a manual 'How to reference' in the intranet.
- If you are looking for a firm
There is a CD-based database called Enterprises 2004 (Przedsiębiorstwa 2004) in the Electronic Reading room located in building C (level II)
- If you need articles in Polish on topics such as: privatization, creating a capital market, banking, taxation system, small business, social and economic situation in Poland, Europe's political and economic integration
